Spring would have to be my most favourite time of year. The drudgery of winter is fast coming to an end. The temperature rises, the shadows lengthen and the days grow longer. The warm breeze carries with it the scent of blossoms bursting open on the branches of trees everywhere. It’s invigorating, it’s inspiring, motivating...... it’s not great, I’ll admit when you suffer from hay fever but that’s nothing a Claratine won’t fix.
Spring is unquestionably beautiful and therefore little wonder that spring is the most popular time of the year to get married. In fact the first day of spring kicks off what is known “in the biz” as Wedding Season.
All those beautiful bulbs and natives are in bloom! Garden wedding ceremonies and receptions are amazing because let’s face it gardens look their absolute best. The flowers are out in full force and the grass is fresh and new and so green, perfect for lawn games and picnic blankets and bare feet.

Beach weddings are likely to see migrating wales in the distance and the beach won’t be full of summer swimmers and stickybeaking holiday makers. It still gets dark early enough to take full advantage of some awesome lighting.
Ceremony and reception venues are re-opening after an off season slow period and more often than not have had some freshening up done such as a new lick of paint or new carpet. You get it looking renewed and fabulous!
Not only are spring weddings good for you but the stores are bursting with spring racing fashion so your guests will have an abundance of fabulous frocks and lightweight suits to choose from to wear to your wedding. Spring weddings are fun for everyone!
It’s important to remember if you are planning to tie the knot in spring that there are loads of others planning to do it to. September, October and November are always my first months to book out so if you have your heart set on a particular, date, reception venue, photographer, band or (ahem) celebrant my advice is to get in early. No kidding I already have dates booked in 2016!
So if you’re like me and you love, daffodils and wisteria and tulips and ranunculus. If you love lavender biscuits and cherry blossom martinis. If you love garden tea parties and chunky knit throw rugs to keep off the evening chill. If you love bare feet on luscious lawns and the enticing sense of summers approach then spring will be your favourite too.
